Man accidentally shoots self during Upstate traffic stop: Deputies

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – One man is in the hospital after accidentally shooting himself during a traffic stop in Spartanburg.

According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, the traffic stop occurred around 4:20 p.m. at Beaumont Ave. and Clinchfield Street.

The sheriff’s office said a deputy located a potential suspect vehicle traveling on North Pine Street and attempted to make a traffic stop at Isom Street and Beaumont Avenue.
