Raleigh, NC – A significant winter storm is set to impact central and northeastern North Carolina from Wednesday morning through Thursday, bringing heavy snow, sleet, and ice accumulations.
According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 7 a.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. Thursday for Edgecombe, Wayne, Wilson, Granville, Halifax, Person, Vance, and Warren counties. Snow accumulations between 4 to 6 inches are expected in northern counties such as Granville and Halifax, while Edgecombe, Wilson, and Wayne counties could see 1 to 3 inches of snow and sleet with up to three-tenths of an inch of ice.
