September 24-27th, 2024 was most likely the three days the State of North Carolina will remember for many years to come. For Western NC the flooding of many small towns, communities and the death toll is well over 100. Some areas received 30 inches of rain.
I sometimes feel sorry we took so long to help some of these people but about five weeks ago Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7316 and American Legion Post 89 members decided we had to help. Not sure how to help was a problem: we thought about propane tanks, food, diapers, feminine products and different things in our meetings…
