LOGE announces plans to open Mountaineer Inn this summer

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Mountaineer Inn, known for its iconic neon sign, could reopen as soon as this summer.

Originally known as The Mountaineer Court, it began as a 19-unit motel in 1939. The Asheville landmark on Tunnel Road sold for $6.1 million in 2023, prompting many to wonder about its future.

Chris Moutos purchased the property in 1964. In May 2023, the Moutos family sold the inn to LOGE Camps, a North Bend, Washington-based company focused on outdoor-inspired lodging experiences.
