HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) – A woman was charged with animal cruelty after deputies reported finding bags of dead canines at her home, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s office.
On March 5, detectives responded to a report of three Saint Bernard dogs running at large at Horse Shoe. After catching the dogs, officers noted that they were in allegedly poor condition and, upon contacting the owner, accompanied her to her residence for further investigation.
Upon arriving at the residence, officers stated that they were shown a shed where the three dogs were kept that was in ‘deplorable condition,’ with reports of feces all over the floor. A total of 15 other dogs were also found on the property, and were allegedly being kept in similar condition.
