Gov. Stein talks economy, small business support amid tariffs and Helene recovery

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Governor Josh Stein was in Winston-Salem on Tuesday, April 22, where he discussed the state of the economy. The governor’s remarks come at a crucial time as state lawmakers work out the details of a $65.9 billion budget proposal.

“Even though some of these tariffs are on a 90 day pause, changing policies on a whim make it exceptionally hard for supply chains to reliably function,” Stein said.
