WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — In celebration of International Firefighters Day, several Firehouse Subs restaurants partnered with local fire departments to honor first responders and engage with the community on Sunday, May 4.
In Weaverville, families participated in a “Touch-A-Truck” event, where they got to get up close with a fire truck and meet a Dalmatian.
“Any family that comes out, it’s meant to be a family fun day,” said Glenda Weinert, a Firehouse Subs franchisee. “Come out and enjoy lunch and meet real firemen, see the truck, and get kids connecting with the people that look after them and protect them in the community.”…
