CANTON, N.C. (WLOS) — The town of Canton is now sustaining a significant expense for wastewater treatment, paying $140,000 monthly to the new owner of the town’s paper mill.
The mill’s previous owner, Pactiv-Evergreen, provided wastewater treatment services at no charge, but that arrangement ended in March.
Now, the town is compensating Eric Spirtas and his company, Two Banks Development, to continue the service under an agreement that ends in March 2026…
