ASHEVILLE – A downtown pizzeria will close to make room for another; a cannabis smoking lounge with coffee bar has closed downtown, but plans to return; a Biltmore Village restaurant reopens for the first time after Tropical Storm Helene; and several events to put on the social calendar, including yoga and cocktail classes, burlesque and magic shows, and chef dining experiences.
Manicomio Pizza closing, new pizza shop coming
Manicomio Pizza will permanently close at 27 Biltmore Ave. at the end of June, after nearly eight years in business, according to its social media account.
Yet, the space will continue to operate as a downtown pizzeria with new owners as Birdie’s Pizza. According to Birdie’s Pizza’s Instagram account, the menu will offer New York-style pizza rounds and squares, as well as 20-inch whole pies and slices.
Little Amsterdam on the move
Little Amsterdam Dispensary and Lounge, which features a cafĂ© and cannabis smoking room, announced on social media that it has closed “due to unforeseen circumstances” at 30 Battery Park Ave.
