SPRUCE PINE, N.C. (WLOS) — Three Ingles locations remain closed because of Helene damage: Swannanoa, Morganton and Spruce Pine. With Ingles out of commission in Mitchell County, Walmart is the only game left in town.
“Mitchell County would be what they refer to as a food desert,” Spruce Pine Town Manager Daniel Stines said. “Our question was are you opening? When will you open? Any timeline? Anything you can share would be appreciated.”
