City of Asheville Offices to Close on July 4th in Observance of Independence Day

City of Asheville offices will be closed Friday, July 4 in celebration of Independence Day. Some City services will be impacted.

Asheville Parks & Recreation:

  • Most parks and greenways are open on a regular schedule of 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Azalea, Carrier (west side), French Broad River, Recreation, and Richmond Hill parks remain closed, as does the portion of French Broad River Greenway that runs through French Broad River Park.   • All community centers and administrative offices are closed on July 4. Outdoor features such as playgrounds, picnic areas and sports courts adjacent to community center buildings are open from 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Riverside Cemetery offices are closed, though the grounds are open 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Some areas are inaccessible due to Helene-related damage.
  • The pool at Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center is open 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Admission is $3 per person.
  • Splasheville in Pack Square Park is open 9 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Montford Park Players’ opening night of A Midsummer Night’s Dream takes place at Hazel Robinson Amphitheater at 7:30 p.m.
