Police ask public for information about Patton Avenue warehouse fire

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville police say they’re conducting a joint investigation with the fire department after a fire destroyed a warehouse on Monday, July 7.

Fire crews were dispatched to the area behind the Patton Avenue Goodwill store around 6:30 a.m. Upon arrival, police said firefighters found that the warehouse and several nearby tractor-trailers were on fire.

Patton Avenue was closed near the scene for much of the day as crews battled the large fire. There were no reports of injuries.

Police said the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Anyone with information that may help the investigation is asked to contact Asheville police at 828-252-1110.
