Inmate who escaped Henderson County jail faces new charges, including felony escape

HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — An inmate who escaped from the Henderson County Detention Center Thursday and was recaptured Sunday made his first court appearance Monday.

Erick Johnyy Perez was charged Monday with felony escape from a local jail, felony possession of a Schedule II substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was given a secured bond of $18,000.
