KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A man accused of shooting and killing a man at an East Knoxville apartment earlier this month has been captured in Asheville, North Carolina after weeks on the run.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Smokey Mountain Fugitive Task Force, U.S. Marshals Asheville Field Office and Asheville Police Department captured 28-year-old Wayne Parham Thursday afternoon.
Parham was accused of shooting and killing 48-year-old Michael Velazquest after a fight at an apartment complex on Howard Baker Jr. Avenue on the morning of July 6. He was charged with second-degree murder, but officers were unable to find him after the shooting…
