ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Haywood Road will soon see some upgrades after the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) received a multi-million-dollar award.
NCDOT was awarded $7 million to improve the road with bike lanes and pedestrian installations. The construction will run from Patton Avenue to Ridgelawn Road.
The first set of bike lanes will go from Patton Avenue to Sulphur Springs, while the others will run from Richmond Avenue to Ridgelawn Road. NCDOT will also add crosswalks, pedestrian signage with flashing lights, and new curb ramps…
