Restoration efforts in Lake Lure continue 10 months after Helene

LAKE LURE, N.C. (WLOS) — Lake Lure continues to see recovery efforts 10 months after Hurricane Helene.

The town of Lake Lure announced in a social media post that the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), AshBritt, and many local contractors have hauled off 26,890 dump truck loads of material.

Crews have completed debris and silt removal from the Rumbling Bald Beach and Marina area and have shifted their focus to begin working on Coves, starting with the Firefly Cove area…
