Man pleads guilty to trafficking fentanyl and meth, faces up to 7 years in prison

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A 31-year-old man will spend at least five years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine, the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office announced on Wednesday, July 30.

Police say the charges stem from a June 20, 2024, incident, when Asheville officers were alerted that Jacob Kyle Ledford, who was wanted in Tennessee, was believed to be in Asheville.

Police located Ledford in a parking lot off Brevard Road, where police say Ledford attempted to flee, striking an officer’s vehicle. Ledford then tried to escape on foot but was quickly apprehended…
