Black Mountain — (WLOS) Every town in Western North Carolina has a Helene story. Every athlete was affected. Every life was touched in some way, shape, or form. Few areas know that better than Swannanoa and Black Mountain, and few schools know it better than Owen.
John Faircloth landed his dream job last year and was navigating his squad through the expected bumps and bruises. A once proud program had been in the figurative valley, but the players were believing.
“Our guys know they represent ‘The Valley’, whole valley, one valley, so there’s always that sense of pride here,” Faircloth explained. “We’ve got a lot of kids coming back, and a lot of guys that have been working really hard and just really looking forward to putting the product on the field.”…
