HENDERSONVILLE – The Henderson County Public Schools 2025-2026 school year starts Aug. 11. Alongside Polk and Rutherford counties, Henderson has the earliest start date in Western North Carolina.
When preparing Henderson County’s 2024-25 academic calendar, which had a start date of Aug. 12, administrators said that everyone involved was happy with the earlier start date, despite the fact that North Carolina mandates school start dates no earlier than the Monday closest to Aug. 26, according to previous Times-News reporting.
“This was a consensus for all. Every single person (on the School Calendar Committee) agreed that they loved the calendar we have this year and they want to see it go forward,” School Board member Blair Craven said at the time, the Times-News previously reported…
