Asheville seeks community groups for post-Helene improvement projects

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Over ten months after Hurricane Helene, the City of Asheville is inviting local community groups to contribute to local recovery initiatives.

This would include efforts such as cleaning up and enhancing public spaces within the city.

“We’re really looking for groups, community groups like neighborhood associations or an art organization,” said Karli Stephenson, an Asheville urban planner. “We want it to be a group with an idea for a temporary project.”…
