HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — All lanes of Interstate 40 westbound near Newfound Road are open as of Friday, Aug. 8, after a fiery crash involving a dump truck the day before had left the road in need of repair.
According to an alert from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the left lane reopened around 6:12 a.m. on Friday, earlier than the department’s previously projected reopening time of 5 p.m.
