BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Buncombe County is nearing the completion of Helene debris removal, more than 10 months after the storm, with Aug. 13 marking a key achievement in the process, according to a news release from the City of Asheville.
On Aug. 13, Buncombe County crews demolished the first structure in the county that is part of the Private Property Debris Removal program.
The city says the Army Corps of Engineers was tasked by FEMA to demolish more than 20 structures in Black Mountain, Swannanoa, Asheville, Fairview, and Weaverville, with more under review…
