VA Employees Donated 48,526 Pounds of Food to Support Western North Carolina and Tennessee

In a friendly competition as part of the Mountain Cup Challenge, the Western North Carolina VA Health Care System and the Mountain Home VA Health Care System from Johnson City, Tennessee, collectively donated 48,526 pounds of food to support the local community’s fight against food insecurity.

“This year, the theme of the employee-driven food drive was ‘Rise and Restore: Give Food, Give Hope,’ focusing on supporting disaster relief efforts for Hurricane Helene,” said James W. Dudley Jr., the acting executive director of the Western North Carolina VA Health Care System.
