Water rescue underway after car went into river in Asheville, crews say

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Asheville Fire Department said a water rescue is underway on Tuesday morning.

Officials said crews are performing a low angle rescue after a car went over an embankment into the river off Lyman Street.

Drivers were being asked to avoid the area due to the rescue impacting traffic. As of 8:51 a.m., the road is back open…
