City council approves agreement for temporary bridge to ease traffic near Nature Center

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The City of Asheville is finalizing an agreement with the state’s Department of Transportation to build a temporary bridge over the Swannanoa River.

After Hurricane Helene destroyed the Gashes Creek Bridge, a detour was created that residents tell News 13 is congested and confusing.
