Western N.C. group claims early end to FEMA housing assistance, causing evictions

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The Helene Survivors Committee is holding a press conference in Asheville on Friday, Aug. 29, claiming people are facing evictions due to FEMA ending a housing assistance program six months early, according to the committee’s press release.

The press conference was in downtown Asheville at Pack Square Park at 5 p.m.
