The Western North Carolina chapter of Project Linus celebrated a special milestone this summer: It delivered its 100,000th blanket to a child in need.
Formed in 1998, the chapter donates handmade blankets to children aged 0-18 across 12 counties, gifts that provide warmth and comfort in times of crisis.
Donated blankets can be quilted, crocheted, knitted or no-sew fleece, and they must be new, homemade, free of smoke and pet dander and washable. No embellishments are allowed due to choking hazards if detached, but colorful, child-friendly fabric and whimsical designs are encouraged…
