PENSACOLA, N.C. — Whenever Christy Edwards is talking to people outside of Yancey County, it’s still hard to explain just how much progress has been made in their little neighborhood of Pensacola since last September.
“This is downtown Pensacola,” Edwards said. “I live right below here, and we couldn’t get up here for about three days because there was a crater about 20 feet deep right here where the road is.”
