North Carolina’s second-highest court has dismissed a private parking company’s appeal in a lawsuit filed by the city of Asheville. City officials claim that ParkMobile slandered the city by misrepresenting Asheville’s affiliation with the private firm.

A trial judge ruled in January that the slander case could move forward. ParkMobile appealed.
