Mental health, housing, chronic disease priorities in 2024 Community Health Assessment

Mental health, housing and chronic disease are top priorities named in Henderson County’s 2024-2026 Community Health Assessment, the Henderson County Department of Public Health announced in a Sept. 4 news release.

The department produces a community health assessment every three years, using local data and survey feedback from community members to “describe health indicators, current conditions and recent changes in health outcomes,” according to the release.

Mental healthcare, particularly suicide prevention, along with chronic diseases like heart disease and accessible housing, are the main areas the county plans to focus on in the coming years…
