During World War II, tyranny and destruction swept over continents, threatening the very foundations of our freedom. In the face of such danger, communities across North Carolina didn’t hesitate. From the bustling streets of Charlotte to the farming fields of Asheboro, men and women from every corner of the state stepped forward and answered the call to serve their beloved country. They asked for no recognition or reward, yet history will forever remember them as heroes.
