Visiting the Newly Re-Opened Berm Park to Test a Camera

Full transparency – Sponsored videos help pay the bills, but our policy is clear: No bicycles or bicycle components. When a video is sponsored, Seth will explicitly and unambiguously say so from the start. And, most importantly, it has to be a product that Seth actually believes in and actually uses. Finally, since it’s sponsored, this video and post will be available on Substack to everyone with no paywall. Now, onto the video…

It’s been nearly a year since the remnants of Hurricane Helene devastated the region we call home, including Chestnut Mountain’s Berm Park. And while many area trails were opened within the first several months following the storm, Chestnut Mountain and Berm Park had some complications with infrastructure. The trails sat dormant for an extended period of time, and this was despite the fact that the trails were actually clear and in great shape.

It was beyond frustrating for us because many of you and other friends of ours in the bike industry actually paid for Berm Park to be built. We did all we could, but in the end, a combination of strategic infrastructure challenges and some communication challenges prevented it from opening sooner. Alas, the park is now open, and the trails are running absolutely incredible! So, if you have the opportunity to get out there, do it! Even better, stop in and support a local business and tell them what brought you by, or take the time to send the Town of Canton a message saying how much you enjoy the park and how glad you are to be back out there…
