ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A Brevard man has been sentenced to nearly 10 years (130 months) in prison followed by five years of supervised release for his role in a drug trafficking ring, according to a Sept. 11 news release from Russ Ferguson, the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.
James Edward Frady, 39, was arrested on October 19, 2023, when deputies with the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office stopped him for a traffic offense.
According to the release, during the course of the traffic stop, law enforcement recovered the following:
- Two plastic baggies containing 90.79 grams of methamphetamine
- 56.51 grams of cocaine
The release says that, according to documents and court proceedings from 2021 to 2023, Frady was part of a drug trafficking network that distributed methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine in Buncombe, Henderson, and Transylvania Counties…
