‘It’s amazing’: Visitors flock to Craggy Gardens area after key section of parkway reopens

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Visitors are making their way to Craggy Gardens after hearing that a reopened stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway restores access to the area.

Cyclists were already on the route Monday morning, where milepost 382 in Asheville to milepost 355.3 at the Ridge Junction Overlook has just reopened.

According to the National Park Service, this reopening includes access to popular sites such as Mount Mitchell State Park, as well as the Craggy Gardens area, which includes the Craggy Gardens Visitor Center, the Craggy Pinnacle Trail, and a short section of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.

Two visitors, Adrian Weber and Emily Graham, told News 13 they’re visiting from Germany. They made a special trip to come to the parkway view on Monday at Craggy Gardens…
