SWANNANOA, N.C. (WLOS) — Like many communities recovering from Hurricane Helene, Swannanoa’s comeback story is complicated. For some, life is starting to get back to normal. For others, there’s still a long way to go.
So, what has changed since we last visited the community six months ago?
“We’ve seen a lot more cleanup of the river and the right of ways. The Army Corps of Engineers have been here doing a lot of work,” said Swannanoa Fire Chief Anthony Penland.
