ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — After the destruction of Helene last year, the Asheville Community Band wanted to create something that symbolized the sounds before, during and after the storm hit western North Carolina.
The band’s director, Fran Shelton, felt strongly that, given the region’s experience with the hurricane, it was necessary to pursue a piece to memorialize the storm.
