High Winds to Impact Blue Ridge Mountains Tonight, NWS Warns

Asheville, NC – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Wind Advisory for Western North Carolina’s high elevations, warning of gusts up to 50 mph from Sunday evening through early Monday morning.

The advisory includes Avery, Buncombe, Mitchell, and Yancey counties, primarily for elevations above 3,500 feet, including areas near Mount Mitchell, Newland, Banner Elk, and Burnsville
