BURNSVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A Yancey County man who was arrested for assault at a No Kings protest held in June in Burnsville will now be facing jail time.
Spruce Pine resident Randy Horton Jr.’s disposition hearing was on Oct. 20 after he was arrested for assault inflicting serious injury on June 14 at Burnsville’s main square during the “No Kings” rally. Horton reportedly assaulted 73-year-old Norman Rabek at the event, according to the Yancey County Sheriff’s Office.
Horton pleaded not guilty, but District Court Judge Alexandria Leake found Horton guilty and sentenced him to a minimum of 75 days in prison. He was also ordered to not have any contact with Rabek for a year…
