Nova the river otter arrived at Grandfather Mountain on Aug. 31, 2013, when she was only six months old.
On Oct. 1, staff and animals at the nonprofit nature park sadly bid her farewell. She passed away from complications due to a suspected blood clot during a dental procedure.
She was 12 years old…
