Buncombe County sees progress as FEMA housing aid for storm survivors nears completion

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — It’s now over five months away from the end of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) temporary housing help for Helene survivors.

As that deadline approaches, the federal agency provided an update on some of those who are still getting assistance in Buncombe County.

FEMA representative Ina Chan spoke at Buncombe County’s Board of Commissioners meeting earlier this week. She said right now, 32 people in the county are still living in the federal agency’s temporary housing program…
