The 2025 Bearfootin’ Bear Auction in Hendersonville, North Carolina, will end soon. Virtual bidding closes on Saturday, October 25, at 6 p.m. The annual event supports 20 local nonprofits. Since 2021, each auction has raised over $100,000. This year, the auction has reached $120,000 so far. Nine bears have been sold at the ‘Buy it Now’ price of $10,000 each. The ‘Buy it Now’ option ends at 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 23. After this, remaining bears may sell for higher prices.
Bidders can join by visiting the auction website or the Downtown Hendersonville site. They can select a bear and place a minimum bid of $100. The auction platform gives real-time updates, including text confirmations and outbid notifications. This year, a new feature adds a three-minute extended bidding period after the official close.
A public countdown event will take place at the Historic Courthouse Square on Main Street from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on October 25. Attendees can meet the artists and see the bears.
