MountainTrue secures $750,000 grant to expand river cleanup efforts

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A local nonprofit organization that works to protect clean waterways in western North Carolina was at the forefront of Hurricane Helene recovery efforts. Now, their effort is about to get a lot bigger.

MountainTrue, based out of Asheville, has received a $750,000 grant from the Center for Disaster Philanthropy’s Truist Foundation “Western North Carolina Recovery and Resiliency Fund.”
