ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The system bringing rain to the region on Wednesday will be the same system that could bring some snow to a few higher elevations on Thursday morning.
Brisk northwesterly winds will push some colder air down into western North Carolina tomorrow, mixing with a little bit of leftover moisture, and voila!
Some light accumulation of snow is possible, mainly above 5,000 feet in the Smokies and Black Mountains.
It’s not very unusual to get snow in the higher elevations this time of year. In fact, even some valleys have experienced snow around Halloween.
