Café in Old Fort offers free meals for children amid govt. shutdown worries

OLD FORT, N.C. (WLOS) — As the federal government shutdown raises fears that food assistance could be delayed for more than a million North Carolinians, one WNC café is stepping in to ensure no child goes hungry.

The Davis Country Store & Café in Old Fort is offering free meals to children whose families receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
