ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — As the government shutdown continues, a wave of Head Start programs across the country are closing.
As dozens of Head Start centers miss out on federal grant payments that were due to arrive in November, like Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, some facilities now say they’ll close indefinitely. Others report they will stay afloat with emergency funding.
