Haywood County food bank fights food insecurity amid government shutdown

HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Food insecurity remains a concern as the back-and-forth over funding SNAP benefits continues during the current government shutdown.

In Haywood County, one non-profit is working to combat the issue. Haywood Christian Ministries (HCM) is expanding its reach with refrigerated lockers and longer pantry hours to increase its impact on feeding the community.
