SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Sullivan County Democratic Party is calling for Commissioner Joe Carr’s resignation following his arrest for sexual battery in North Carolina last month.
A release Saturday evening from the county’s Democratic party cited Carr’s arrest for public intoxication and sexual battery in Asheville on Oct. 19, as well as a slew of additional claims, as reasons for his resignation or removal.
The group described Carr’s behavior in the last few months as “unethical”, also citing a Sullivan County Commission meeting in June where Carr said he thought Juneteenth was a “woke holiday.”
