BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Community leaders, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) crews and county officials gathered in Swannanoa on Thursday, Nov. 20, to celebrate the groundbreaking of Buncombe County’s newest EMS East base emergency services facility.
According to Taylor Jones, the director of emergency services with the county, recent findings revealed a significant gap between the county’s performance and national standards.
“The national standard, you want to get an EMS truck on scene in 8 minutes and 59 seconds,” Jones said. “We had a 6 minute and 30 seconds gap, at least.”…
