Mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard will take on a week-long residency with the Asheville Symphony from March 16–23, 2026.
The GRAMMY Award-winning vocalist will lead “A Celebration of Voice” which showcases the beauty, versatility, and storytelling power of vocal music through a diverse slate of performances, educational engagements, and community experiences.
As part of the residency Leonard and pianist John Arida will give a recital featuring selections by Garcia-Lorca, Montsalvatge, Bizet, traditional Spanish songs, and more. Also, Leonard will solo in the Symphony’s “Masterworks 5” concert featuring Barber’s “Knoxville: Summer of 1915,” highlights from West Side Story, plus works by Georges Bizet, Manuel de Falla, and Gabriela Lena Frank, among others…
