NC man pleads guilty to trading vape cartridges for explicit videos of minor

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) – A Buncombe County man will spend at least 15 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to multiple child sex crimes, including charges of trading a minor victim vape cartridges in exchange for explicit videos.

According to the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office, Joshua Ryan Reece, 46, pleaded guilty to charges of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor and sexual servitude of a minor. He was sentenced to 15 – 23 years in state prison, and will have to register as a sex offender for 30 years.

The district attorney’s office said Reece encouraged a minor victim to send him sexually explicit videos in exchange for vape cartridges. The district attorney’s office said the transactions met the state’s requirement for a sexual servitude charge.
